Field-programmable gate array-based field-oriented control for permanent magnet synchronous motor drive

Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is a special type of electric that has many applications such as in the manufacturing industry robots, self-propelled mechanisms, medical fiel. In this paper, permanent control structure according to field-oriented (FOC) algorithm will be implemented on field-programmable gate array (FPGA) card. Function blocks FOC for example PI controller, space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) integrated into individual itegrated circuit (Ics) then connected form an IC with function implementing algorithm. Furthermore, used powertrains using gallium nitride (GaN). GaN technology provides switching frequencies up 100 kHz instead upper 2 20 like insulated bipolar transistor (IGBT) transistors. With technology, it possible reduce losses well increase efficiency power converter. The performance results verified through typhoon hardware loop (HIL) device.
